A middle school football game is called off after an 8th grade player claims a coach assaulted him.

Newton Falls police are looking into allegations that a volunteer football coach from Campbell memorial assaulted a Newton Falls player during Thursday night's game.

Referees called the game off immediately after the allegations were made. Newton Falls Superintendent Dave Wilson tells 21 News that athletic directors and principals from both schools have met and are reviewing a video of that game.
