Mahoning county officials broke ground Monday morning on a new facility in Poland in Poland Park at the corner of Old Miller and Cowden Road that will bring 10 new jobs to the Valley.
The Materials Recovery Facility in Mahoning County will handle recyclable materials collected by Allied Waste.
Funding for the project came from grant funds that were administered by the Mahoning County Green Team.
The money comes from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources and Greenstar.
The facility should begin operating in June 2010.
