Youngstown man pleads guilty to 2005 murder

A Youngstown man plead guilty on Wednesday to kidnapping, rape, robbery and murder.

Antonio Jackson will serve two consecutive life sentences, but will not face the death penalty for the crimes committed against Sierra Slaton, 19, in 2005.

Jackson also admitted to the 2005 kidnapping, robbery, torture and drowning of Tahnee Jackson, a Youngstown State University student and mother of two who worked with the handicapped.

Assistant prosecutor Dawn Cantalamessa said the plea deal was offered after discussion with Slaton's family.

"We talked to the victim's family. I talked to Paul Gains, obviously everyone in agreement, they wanted closure for this case that's been going on since 2005.  So we extended the offer for consecutive life sentences without parole for each of the murders," Cantalamessa said.

Jackson will be sentenced in January.
