The Canfield post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a one-vehicle crash that left one person dead Monday evening.

According to police, a vehicle being driven by Jesse J. Hill, 22, of Alliance went off the right side of Oyster Road just before 7 p.m. on Monday.

A passenger, Charles F. Shreve, 17, also of Alliance, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Hill was life-flighted to St. Elizabeth's hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
