2010 may be a better year for Warren City employees than 2009. City leaders say the benefits workers gave up in 2009 will be restored at the end of this year.
Although workers will likely need to make concessions again in 2010 to help the city fill a 700-thousand dollar gap in the budget, the cuts won't be as deep as they were this year.
"We think if we can have the same kind of success and cooperation negotiating that we'll be able to make those adjustments and we'll be able to move forward from this point," says Safety Service Director Doug Frankin.
Warren has 79 less employees now than it did at the beginning of 2009.
City leaders are hoping to eventually bring back some safety service workers.
