The Mahoning County Democratic Party has a new political director.

Richard Ouzounian was named to the position Thursday by party chairman Dave Betras.

Ouzanian has worked on the federal level with the Clinton administration and most recently at the state level producing video segments for the Illinois attorney general.

"I am very happy to have Oz accept the position of political director. Oz will do a great job and he has the political experience that will help move the party forward," Betras said in a news release.
