Boardman police are investigating the latest in a recent series of home burglaries.
Tuesday around 5 p.m., police created a perimeter at a business near Overhill after a robbery.
They were unable to capture a suspect.
Monday, it was a home on Ron Park Place where police say an intruder gained entrance by kicking-in a door to the attached garage.
Boardman police say about 29 very similar home burglaries have been reported in just the past two weeks.
They say thieves appear to be after electronics and jewelry especially gold jewelry.
Chief Jack Nichols said criminals often canvass the area before striking.
"They smile and say 'Is Mike here?' Oh, so sorry to disturb you,' give a big smile and turn around and walk away and they're a burglar looking to break in," Nichols said.
