Austintown parents learn about teens and cyber-safety

A representative from the Ohio Attorney General's office spoke at a program in Austintown Tuesday to educate parents on their children's online activities.

Kathy Nichols of the Attorney General's Youth and Juvenile department said it is important for parents to communicate with their children about potential dangers they could confront in cyberspace.

"Check the history on the computer. That's a real easy thing. Read your child's phone bill when they're texting. Some kids take their phones to bed at night and text all night long. That's not healthy, that's not using good boundaries," Nichols said.
