A national taxpayers group claims to have computed how much the government bailout of the auto industry costs Americans.
The national taxpayers union has issued a report that says the average taxpaying family has invested 800 dollars in the bailouts so far.
The report finds that government support for GM, Chrysler and GMAC now amounts to nearly 79 billion dollars.
The study says that the American taxpayer has put up 12-thousand 200 dollars for every GM vehicle sold through the beginning of 2011.
