The city of Youngstown sold one of its fire stations to a company that wants to build additional student housing for Youngstown State University, but the sale will not erase any of the city's debt.

U.S. Campus Suites purchased fire station number 7 on Madison Avenue.

The sale was already figured in to the city's budget for 2009, though, so the deficit for the year is still more than a million dollars.

The station will remain in service for several more years before closing.
