Community activists in Warren are setting their sites on a store that they say is a hotbed for loitering and crime.
The South West Neighborhood Assocation, ACTION, clergy members and city residents held a meeting Thursday at New Freedom Missionary Baptist Church to voice concerns over the problems surrounding the Westside Market at Highland and Fourth Streets.
Tina Milner of the South West Neighborhood Association said their purpose is to hold business owners accountable.
"Our purpose now is to address the store owner, the property owner and let them know that the conditions are not safe for the residents. They have a professional accountability to the people who live in that area," Milner said.
Residents said they want police to assist the store owner to bring the building up to code.
