The Youngstown police department is warning citizens that the Youngstown Fraternal Order of Police is not currently seeking donations.

According to a press release, several calls have come into the department reporting phone solicitors asking for contributions, offering to pick up the money or to send it to an address outside of the Youngstown area.

They said most of the calls are coming to people who have supported Lodge #28 in the past.

The release said any contributions should be sent to Youngstown FOP #28, P.O. Box 26, Youngstown, Ohio 44503.

F.O.P will not ask for contributions to be sent to any other address and do not offer to pick up donations.
