Ohio receives additional H1N1 vaccines

Ohio communities are getting additional doses of the H1N1 vaccine from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

The Ohio Department of Health ordered an additional 259,800 doses of the vaccine, which will be shipped directly to 511 local health departments, family physicians and other health care officials.

The vaccine is still reserved for Tier One patients, who are considered to be at high risk for the disease.

These include pregnant women, health care workers and people between the ages of six months and 24 years.

The doses are expected to arrive Monday, bringing Ohio's total number of doses of the vaccine to 2,299,200.

More is expected to be delivered in the coming weeks.
