YSU shooting suspect makes plea deal; cleared of shooting charges

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio- One of the men initially charged with murdering a YSU student and injuring 11 others is cleared of the actual shootings according to the Mahoning County Prosecutor.

In a surprising development the murder charge is expected to be dismissed against Braylon Rogers, after he cut a deal with the County Prosecutor that allowed him to plead guilty to a single weapons charge.

Authorities say Rogers has agreed to cooperate fully by testifying truthfully about the murder of Jamail Johnson, and the wounding of 11 others on Indiana Avenue.

A fifth person has also been arrested in connection with the off-campus shooting. Brandon Carter is accused of obstructing justice.
