Niles Mayor helps flood victims

NILES, Ohio- Flood victims on Washington Avenue in Niles had their voices heard by the city's mayor.

Residents went to city hall indicating their homes have been flooded several times over the last three years. They claim water backing up from the city sewers into their homes.

Mayor Ralph Infante says the city's sanitary department will be addressing the issue this week.

"We are going to have the whole neighborhood two block area jetted," says Mayor Infante. "We are going to have the basins all cleaned out we are going to have storms sewers jetted out immediately."

The city recently approved the purchase of a camera system to scope aging or blocked pipes. Once the camera system is up and running Washington Avenue will be the sanitary department's first stop.
