    A two car crash that shut down a busy highway in Trumbull County earlier this month is being called a case of road rage by state troopers who have now charged both drivers. The Ohio State Highway Patrol filed charges against two Warren men who they say were driving a pickup truck and SUV that collided and crashed on State Route 82 in Bazetta Township on May 8. William Elmore, 26, and Anthony Minotti, 21, are both charged with reckless operation of a motor vehicle.

Monroe issued a media release on Tuesday saying his deputies, along with the assistance of federal, state and local law enforcement began an effort to verify that registered offenders are living under terms ordered by the courts that convicted them.

    Authorities are searching for an 89-year-old Warren man who has been missing since early Saturday morning.  The endangered missing adult alert was sent statewide and sent to surrounding states including Pennsylvania and West Virginia.  Police say Donald James Baier went missing around 5 a.m. when he left his residence on Wheelock Drive and hasn't returned.

    The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating the circumstances surrounding an incident in Braceville Township that left one person pinned between two pickup trucks. Troopers say the two trucks were stopped along State Route 534 just north of Route 5 while one of the drivers was working to jump start the truck's battery. An oncoming car rammed one of the trucks, pushing them together and pinning one person between them.

    Fire destroyed a building at the Rogers Flea Market in Columbiana County late Friday night. Flames spread through one of the pavilions. Fire investigators are describing damages as a total loss.     The Ohio State Highway Patrol has joined forces with the Mahoning County Sheriff's Department and Youngstown Police Department after several fatal accidents this year.  Troopers headed up an effort to crack down on impaired drivers in the city. During a stop in New Springfield on Friday, Turnpike Executive Director Randy Cole said the majority of the construction will be in the western half of the state this season. Cole also told 21 News he doesn't expect any major jumps in toll costs.

    Students at Hilltop Elementary were able to sit in the seats of vehicles that people in various professions drive every day. Vehicles from fire trucks to farming equipment were on display at the school.     An East High student accused of elbowing a police offer appeared in front of as judge Friday afternoon.  18-year-old Torrence Mosley pleaded not guilty to a misdemeanor assault charge. The charge stemmed from an incident last week at East High School when Mosley refused to put his backpack through a metal detector as he walking into the school.  A pre-trial date has not been set.  More >>

    A Lawrence County man was given four doses of an opiate overdose reversal drug after crashing his car in Poland Township Friday morning. Another driver spotted a car driving erratically along New Castle Road just before it veered into a ditch and crashed east of Coit Road just before 7 a.m. Those first on the scene reported that the driver, Christopher Levine, 25, appeared to be unresponsive, and administered four doses of Narcan to revive him before being taken to the hospital.

    A woman has been accused of shooting two of her children in the head in Ohio and has been arrested. Police say an 8-year-old girl and a 6-year-old boy were shot Thursday morning and are hospitalized in critical condition. An 11-year-old daughter at the Dayton home at the time was unharmed. Police Chief Richard Biehl says the woman shot the children inside the home and then took them outside, where police and emergency crews found them in the front yard.

As a result lawmakers are taking action.   U.S. Senators Sherrod Brown and Rob Portman introduced bipartisan legislation to help people in Ohio receive treatment for opioid addiction.  The bill would continue to expand Medicaid allowing coverage at facilities for up to 40 beds.

Federal immigration authorities say Maribel Trujillo-Diaz  entered the United States illegally in 2002 and has exhausted legal appeals. An Immigration and Customs Enforcement official says she has been subject to a final order of deportation since 2014.
