UPDATED: Police identify motorcyclist killed in Niles crash

NILES, Ohio - Police have identified a motorcycle rider who was found dead in the woods in Niles over the weekend.

The body of William Jury, Jr., 36, of Mineral Ridge, was found by a Niles resident checking his mail Saturday.

The homeowners, whose home is in the 1,000 block of Salt Springs Road, followed broken pieces of their mailbox and pieces of a Harley Davidson Sportser into the woods.  There, they found a motorcycle and it's driver.

Jury was pronounced dead at the scene.

Niles Police Chief Bruce Simeone said the rider of the motorcycle was not wearing a helmet.  Simeone said a determination had not yet been made on how fast the driver was going.

No other vehicles are believed to have been involved in the crash.

The bike traveled more than the length of a football field from the time it left the road to the woods.
