LAKE MILTON, Ohio - Some scary moments Friday afternoon for a fisherman near Lake Milton.
Police say the man was fishing in a restricted area when he fell into the water near the dam.
Another fisherman saw him fall and quickly ran to a nearby police department. An off duty officer rushed to help the man and rescued him.
Chief Joe Borosky says people should realize the danger of going into the restricted area. "I believe this is the second time it's happened this year. But it is a common occurrence, people going out past the safety rails. Those rails are there for a reason; for their safety. This is what happens when they don't obey the direction of the signs and the safety rules out," Borosky said.
The man was cited by the Ohio Department of Natural Resources with criminal trespassing.
