YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio- The Youngstown Post Office is making sure that it's mail, it's employees and you are safe. Late Wednesday afternoon, it held a drill that puts its bio-hazard detection system to the test. It also is an opportunity for U.S. Postal inspectors to get re-certified.
The drill was done at a time when the most amount of mail is coming through the facility and when the most employees are inside the facility.
U.S. Postal Inspector Terry Sullivan says the drill includes the evacuation of employees. "The trained inspectors would then be tasked to go into the facility and to retrieve any evidence related to the biohazard event," says Sullivan.
Local haz-mat and fire crews were also involved in the drill.
