Possible case of meningitis at Warren G. Harding High School

WARREN, Ohio - There's a possible case of meningitis at Warren G. Harding High School.

School officials say a parent reported the possible illness. The Warren City Health Department says they have not been contacted yet.

"Normally we wait until the health department confirms or denies any possible cases," explained Aaron Schwab, a spokesperson for the Warren City School District.

"In this case, we felt it was necessary just to notify the parents there was a possible case. There's no possibility at this point of being infected by the student, the student has been removed from school. I believe they're under the care of a physician, and at this point we're just moving forward," Schwab said.

Symptoms of meningitis include headache, fever, nausea, and stiff neck.
