WBCB signs multi-sport agreement with ACC Network

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – 21 WFMJ's sister station, WBCB, is pleased to announce a new, multi-sport affiliation with the ACC Network beginning in January 2012.

WBCB is the Valley's new home for ACC Conference basketball games beginning in early January 2012. That includes regular season weekend games followed by the ACC Tournament weekend games and the ACC Tournament Championship Game. The ACC is one of the strongest and most competitive intercollegiate conferences in the nation, capturing back-to-back national basketball titles in 2009 and 2010.

In addition, WBCB is the home of ACC Conference football games beginning in September 2012. WBCB will offer the ACC Network's entire 13-game football season as well as the "ACC Blitz" pre-game show beginning at 12:00 p.m.

WFMJ/WBCB General Manager Jack Grdic says, "We are excited to add the ACC Network to our growing weekend sports programming on WBCB. With the potential addition of the University of Pittsburgh in the near future, we see a lot of local interest. There is no better basketball conference in the nation, and the ACC offers some of the top football teams as well. We were also pleased to have offered Valley viewers the YSU away games this past season."

The Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) includes the following members: Boston College, Clemson University, Duke University, Florida State University, Georgia Tech, University of Maryland, University of Miami, North Carolina State University, University of North Carolina, University of Virginia, Virginia Tech, and Wake Forest. Note: The University of Pittsburgh and Syracuse University are slated to be joining the ACC Conference in the near future.
