Plans changing for thoroughbred racing In Austintown

Updated:

AUSTINTOWN, Ohio - The type of horse racing track Penn National Gaming wants to move to the Mahoning Valley has changed.

Instead of relocating Toledo's harness racing facility to Austintown, the company wants to bring Grove City, Ohio's thoroughbred racing track there.

Penn's Chairman and CEO Peter Carlino says the harness racing track would now be in Dayton.

Carlino is waiting on the regulatory framework allowing video lottery terminals in the racetracks from the state.
