CANFIELD, Ohio - Canfield police are on the scene of an apparent shooting death.

Neighbors on Carriage Lane say they heard what sounded like five gunshots at around 7:15 a.m. Wednesday morning.

When police arrived, they found a body lying in the road.

Our print partner, The Vindicator, is reporting that the victim has been identified as a 40-year-old teacher at the Mahoning County Career and Technical Institute.

Police are searching for 63-year-old Robert McLaughlin from Painesville, Ohio.

Last November the Painesville man was placed on probation for stalking and harassing a Canfield woman. A Mahoning County judge declared him to be a tier one sexual offender.

McLaughlin pleaded guilty to pandering obscenity after sending letters containing fabricated sexual information about his victim to business owners and school administrators.
