Sources tell 21 Sports that Joe Tresey will be the Penguins new defensive coordinator

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - It appears YSU head coach Eric Wolford is zeroing in on his new defensive coordinator.

Several sources tell 21 Sports that Joe Tresey is the leading candidate.

Tresey is no stranger to the Mahoning Valley. He's a graduate of Warren JFK and has a wealth of experience.

Last season he was the defensive coordinator at UCLA and prior to that was at South Florida and Cincinnati,

In 2009, under Tresey, the Bulls were ranked 19th nationally in total defense.

Early in his career, Tresey also coached at Akron, Georgia Southern and VMI.
