STRUTHERS, Ohio - It's been a big week for a Struthers businessman.
On Friday, Joshua Bartell held the grand opening for Bartell's Cupcakery. He also got word that he has been selected as a contestant on the Food Newtwork's "Cup Cake Wars."
He hopes to represent the region well and win the contest. "This past week I figured its Friday night, it's over, and they're not going to call. They gave me the call. I was running through the parking lot. My wife was laughing at me. We leave March 7th to start filming; I'm not sure when it's going to air yet. It's pretty exciting," Bartell said.
"He made it! I'm so proud of him. We have not gotten one bad review. They make their own special fudge; the icing is their own icing. You know how your parents have their hidden ingredients, well he does it to me," said Janet Bartell, Joshua's mom.
Some of his customer's favorites include butter pecan, salted caramel, dream sickle and murder by chocolate.
