SALEM TOWNSHIP, Ohio - Salem Township has had three break-ins and one attempted break-in the last two weeks.
Chief Dan Valentine tells 21 News the burglaries have taken place on in the eastern and western portions of the township.
Valentine says homeowners can help police and themselves by securing their house the best they can by recording the serial numbers and or model numbers of items in their home.
"People are reporting items stolen, but they can't tell us anything about it but I had a large 42 inch TV that was taken. But we can't enter it in our police database as a stolen piece of property if we don't have a serial number in order to be able to retrieve the property later on, Valentine said.
Valentine says thieves are taking TVs, i-Pods, i-Pads, Kindles and gaming systems.
