YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - This week Ohio's governor is expected to roll out his plan for taxing oil and gas drilling companies in the shale industry.

However, State Representative Bob Hagan says he still believes a moratorium on drilling should be put in place until we find a safe way to dispose of chemicals used in the drilling process.

Hagan questions actions of state agencies he says are supposed to protect Ohioans.

"We don't want to poison and contaminate your water, or contaminate the Earth. We now know that the Ohio DNR (Department of Natural Resources) has been less than truthful not only about D&L, but Patriot Water as well," Hagan said.

Hagan says the Ohio Department of Natural Resources had information that the injection wells in Youngstown were possibly causing earthquakes before the December and New Year's Eve quakes.

D&L Energy says its wells met all state requirements.

Hagan also says that the study on contaminated water was done years before Patriot Water began its operations in Warren.
