DAYTON, Ohio - The Youngstown State baseball team dropped its series opener at Wright State 32-4 on Friday evening at Nischwitz Field.

The Raiders hit six home runs in the game and scored their 32 runs on 23 hits. Seventeen of their runs were unearned, including 13 of the 15 they scored in the first two innings. Additionally, 25 of their runs came with two outs.

YSU scored the first run of the game in the first inning when Drew Dosch walked with two outs and scored on Marcus Heath's double. Wright State, though, answered with 10 runs in the bottom first as a preview for its hot night at the plate.

David Saluga and Ryan Trimbur had RBI singles for YSU in the eighth, and Weston Weiss tripled and scored in the ninth. Trimbur, a walk-on catcher from nearby Girard, went 1-for-2 in his collegiate debut.

Ryan Ashe had nine RBIs, and Tristan Moore had six RBIs and scored six times for Wright State.

The Penguins and Raiders will continue their three-game series on Friday at 6:30 p.m.
