YSU student found guilty in fatal crash near campus

Updated:

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - A Youngstown State University student has been found guilty on charges stemming from a fatal traffic crash near the campus last February.

Twenty-two-year old Samantha Yoder of Alliance was charged with vehicular homicide and failing to obey a traffic signal.

Police say Yoder crashed into another vehicle at Fifth and Rayen Avenues.

A passenger in the other vehicle, 45-year-old Susan Welsh, was killed.

Yoder told police that she was talking on her cell phone but was not texting.

She's scheduled to be sentenced later this month.
