PITTSBURGH (AP) - The Pittsburgh Pirates recalled infielder Matt Hague on Saturday and optioned catcher Eric Fryer to AAA Indianapolis.
This is the third time Hague has been promoted this season. He's hitting .235 with seven RBIs in 28 games for Pittsburgh. Hague tied for the major league lead with home runs during spring training when he hit seven.
Fryer was brought up earlier this week as insurance after starting catcher Rod Barajas battled a knee problem. Fryer had one hit in four games.
