Car careens into an ambulance in Lawrence County

NEW CASTLE, Pennsylvania - Pennsylvania State Police in New Castle are investigating after a car careens into an ambulance early Sunday morning in Lawrence County.

It happened around 1:00 a.m.

A car travelling on Route 65 in Slippery Rock Township crossed into the opposite lane of traffic hitting another vehicle. The car then spun sideways, slamming into a NOGA Ambulance.

The crash trapped the woman driving the car inside and she had to be removed by the Shenango and Slippery Rock Township Fire Departments.

The two in the ambulance got out themselves and did not suffer any injuries.

The woman in the car was flown to a hospital and her condition is unknown at this time.
