Pa drivers run into group of cows on road

Updated:

LAWRENCE COUNTY, Pennsylvania - A small herd of cows on a road took a few drivers by surprise Sunday night in Lawrence County.

Michael Brown was driving on Route 168 in Hickory Township when he came across five cows. Brown could not avoid hitting two of them.

Brown got out of his truck and tried to alert oncoming drivers with a flashlight.

A New Castle woman then struck another one of the cows and her friend following her ended up running in to her vehicle from behind.

Brown says the cows did serious damage to his vehicle.  Brown said this is the first time he has ever encountered any cows on the road.

Police say the cows were still alive, but had to be put down. None of the drivers were injured.
