WASHINTON, DC - Opponents of hydraulic fracturing, or fracking, took their protest and concerns to our nation's capital.

The fractivists, who are concerned over the safety of drinking water and the environment, rallied in Washington D.C.

The men and women also delivered toxic fracking waste water to the American Petroleum Institute and Natural Gas Alliance.

More than 3,000 people, including a bus full of Valley residents, took part in the rally called Stop the Frack Attack.

Organizers say their goal is to get Congress and President Obama to listen and understand that communities across the country are concerned about shale gas development and fracking.

Many activists also took part in training workshops along with a day of citizen lobbying on Capitol Hill.

Vermont, New York, and 200 municipalities have passed ordinances to ban fracking.
