WARREN, Ohio - Beginning this fall, all students in the Warren City School District will receive a free lunch and breakfast.
It's part of a pilot program that's being offered in four states.
In the past, well over 70-percent of the students in the Warren School District qualified for free and reduced lunches.
"It's very exciting; because this is such a needy area and so many of our families need whatever help can be provided. So this is something they don't have to worry about; sending a lunch or lunch money with their children because we're going to provide a nutritious meal for them," said Lauren Postlethwait, Food Service Operations for Warren City Schools.
The pilot program will offer every student free breakfast and lunch at all Warren schools for four years.
Parents will receive a letter from the school district informing them of the program.
