Shepherd of the Valley Howland will host CarFit on Wednesday

Updated:

HOWLAND, Ohio – Triple A will pair with Shepherd of the Valley in Howland to host a senior CarFit program on Wednesday.

CarFit is designed to help seniors become more familiar with their vehicles. Triple A representatives will go over a 12 point checklist of things seniors should be aware of before getting behind the wheel.

"Most cars are generic. We have to do little things to make them fit us. It is even more important for senior drivers. Are they sitting up high enough in the seat? Are they too close to the airbags and the steering wheel? We know that they need to have a three inch line of site over that. So, we can spend about 15 minutes with them in a 12 point check list and we can provide them with some feedback to make them drive a little bit longer and a little bit better and a little bit safer," said Triple A Safety Advisor Lori Cook.

You must call Shepherd of the Valley in Howland at 330-856-9232 to get an appointment for Wednesday's event. It will run from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
