Reported cases of swine flu at recent agricultural events raises concern for upcoming events

Updated:

CANFIELD, Ohio - Reported cases of swine flu have caused concerns at recent and upcoming agricultural events, but the reports haven't changed plans at the upcoming Canfield Fair.

The concerns came following several confirmed cases of swine flu in humans who had visited the Butler County Fair.

Two pigs from the just concluded Ohio State fair were sent home after testing positive for the disease.

As a result, people attending livestock exhibits at the fair were advised to wash their hands before eating or drinking.

Now officials at the Cuyahoga County Fair have cancelled swine exhibits.

21 News contacted officials from the Canfield Fair, which begins later this month, and at this point no changes are planned for the swine exhibits.
