CAMPBELL, Ohio – It was an unusual hit and run in Campbell Tuesday when a car hit a house knocking it off of its foundation.

Tire tracks in the yard on 6th Street in Campbell lead to the scene of the crime.

It is suspected that an unknown driver somehow lost control of their car just after 10:00 a.m. and plowed in to the house.

The impact was powerful enough to knock the home off of its foundation. The suspect drove off before police could arrive. "It's crazy. Because if I wouldn't have went to my mom's house last night, I probably would have been in there when it happened," said Miranda Mileto.

Mileto now has a room with a view. The walls to her bedroom were destroyed and the floor in that room is on the verge of collapse in to an unwelcomed new entrance to the basement.

"I'm hoping we can get it fixed. I'm hoping we can get what we need to get out of it before it goes in to the basement," Mileto said.

Ashley Slaven was sleeping in a bedroom on the other side of the house and was shocked to wake up to the damage. "Thank God there was nobody in there. Just thank God there was nobody in there. They could have been really hurt," Slaven said.

And while she's thankful everyone is alright, she wants the person responsible to be arrested and prosecuted and ordered to pay for the damage they caused.

"I don't understand how somebody can hit something and just run. Whether it's house or a dog, why would you just run? At least own up to your stuff," Slaven said.

Campbell police are investigating, but the chief detective says they have no vehicle description or suspects to go on.
