Jelani Berassa out the entire season for the YSU Penguins

Updated:

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - With only two weeks left to prepare for the Pitt Panthers, the Youngstown State University Penguins will now have to adjust to life without one of their top offensive weapons.

YSU head coach Eric Wolford announced on Saturday that wide receiver Jelani Berassa will miss the entire 2012 season with a torn ACL in his right knee.

The junior wide out suffered the injury on Wednesday and it was non-contact related.

This is the second time in three years Berassa has missed an entire year with a knee injury. He sat out the 2010 season with a left ACL tear.

Berassa played all eleven games in 2011 and caught a team high eight touchdowns.
