Traffic stop turns into police chase in Youngstown

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - A routine traffic stop turned into a police chase in Youngstown on Tuesday.

Youngstown patrol officers say a driver refused to pull over for police and at one point bailed out of his car.

The suspect even tried to elude police by attempting to run in to a stranger's home on Victor Avenue.

A woman, who only wanted to be identified as Marlowe, said it scared her to death. "He ran across my porch and he thought he was running into the house. My door was open. I seen him coming. I locked my door and told my boyfriend and my son to lock the back door."

The suspect was taken by ambulance to a local hospital. Officers say the suspect fell as he tried to run from police.

He's expected to be charged with fleeing and eluding and resisting arrest.
