WARREN, Ohio -Over 5,000 people are already signed up for the area's largest fundraising event, the third annual Panerathon, a 10K/2 mile run walk Sunday, August 26th at the Covelli Centre benefiting the Joanie Abdu Comprehensive Breast Care Center located in Youngstown.

The event is expected to raise in excess of $200,000 dollars.

"We are so pleased to see the community rally behind this cause once again this year. It is truly an honor to be able to put on an event of this magnitude and to be a part of bringing about better breast care services to the people in our Valley," said Sam Covelli, Owner/Operator of Covelli Enterprises.

One hundred percent of the proceeds from event will be donated to the Center, which opened its door last November at St. Elizabeth Health Center in downtown Youngstown The money raised from Panerathon will support Joanie's Promise, which will ensure access for all to the life-saving screenings, care and services of the Joanie Abdu Comprehensive Breast Care Center regardless of the ability to pay.

"All of us at the HMHP Foundation are excited for another amazing year of Panerathon. We can't wait to see the thousands of community members who come out to support the mothers, sisters, and daughters of the Mahoning Valley and to ensure access to quality breast care for everyone," said Lori Shandor of the HMHP Foundation.

People are still able to register for the event on Sunday at the Covelli Centre beginning at 8am. The walk/run begins at 10am. The first-ever Panerathon quarter-mile Kids Run will occur after the 10K and 2 Mile events. The Kids Run is FREE for children of all ages and will be followed by a post-race celebration including local mascots, bounce-a-rounds, and exhibits from OH WOW! Science Center, FREE massages for all race participants and O'Charley's food being sold to raise money for cause!
