LIBERTY TWP, Ohio -

LIBERTY TOWNSHIP, Ohio - The search for a stolen dog that belongs to an Idaho family continued on Saturday in Liberty Township.

More than 30 people gathered in the parking lot of the Bob Evans restaurant in Liberty. The volunteers searched in the woods and went door to door asking people if they had seen the 50 pound bull dog Mabel.

Canine Crusaders organized the search party of volunteers.

Lori Kolenich, a Liberty resident, and her children helped in the search. "I hope that if I were ever in the same situation that Paul and Brooke are in the community would reach out and help me. Having dogs of my own and lost dogs of my own, I just wanted to step in and help and do what I can do," Kolenich said.

Brooke Jillings and her family can be reached at bringmabelhome@gmail.com and at www.twitter.com/bringmabelhome

A $1,000 dollar reward is being offered for the return of Mabel.
