WARREN, Ohio - While the new owner of RG Steel in Warren searches for an operator to run the mill, steelworkers are learning what choices they have for health insurance if the new owner is unsuccessful.

Some workers may opt for a health coverage tax credit where the government would pay for nearly 73- percent of their health care premium.

"Those that take the tax credit are going to have cheaper premiums, significantly cheaper premiums, and those costs are somewhere around $225 per person. Those that don't have that option are going to be stuck with a premium close to $640," said John Saunders with the United Steelworkers.

Steelworkers with questions are being encouraged to contact their union.
