Panthers searching for answers after 0-2 start

Updated:

PITTSBURGH (AP) - Pitt coach Paul Chryst says he's not worried about his players' confidence despite an 0-2 start.

The Panthers fell apart in the second half of a 34-10 loss to Cincinnati last Thursday and need to beat No. 13 Virginia Tech at home on Saturday to falling to 0-3 for the first time since 2005.

Chryst says he did see signs of improvement against the Bearcats following a humbling upset against Youngstown State in the season opener. Senior running back Ray Graham ran for 100 yards in his second game back from knee surgery and the Panthers steadied themselves after falling in a quick 14-0 hole.

Saturday's game is a preview of what awaits the Panthers when they join the ACC in 2013 and Virginia Tech becomes an annual foe.
