Valley fracking protesters join others across the country in a day of protest

Updated:

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - Valley residents who are against fracking and the dumping of fracking waste are joining others across the country in a day of protests.

Late Wednesday afternoon protestors viewed the anti-fracking film, "The Sky is Pink."

Former Pittsburgh City Council President Douglas Shields, who is featured in the film, spoke before the movie.

"Right now in Pennsylvania and Ohio you have no right to say anything if they're going to put drilling operations in your neighborhood; as they have in Broadview Heights, in a subdivision, next to homes. You have no right to say anything. How do you govern at the local level?" Shields said.

Later in the day protestors marched to Youngstown City Hall.
