Youngstown police shoot dog after it bites its owner

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - A dog attack on Youngstown's east side has left one man hospitalized.

Authorities tell 21 News that a pit bull bit its owner on Arcadia Street on Wednesday afternoon.

Police say the man is undergoing surgery for a punctured artery. There's no word on his name or condition.

After several hours, authorities tracked the dog to nearby Edgar Street where they used a shotgun to kill the animal.
