Meyer looks at bright side with Buckeyes this week

Updated:

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - With his team hitting the road for the first time in its Big Ten opener at Michigan State on Saturday, Ohio State coach Urban Meyer chose to accentuate the positive this week.

Meyer had a short clip of highlights created that he showed to the Buckeyes on Sunday. Here was offensive tackle Reid Fragel laying out a defender 10 yards downfield, there was defensive tackle Johnathan Hankins leveling a ball-carrier.

Even though he still has concerns about his team, and warned that they must make dramatic improvement or they'll lose, Meyer and his staff are pouring on the compliments.

"I'm not giving up," he said. "By the end of the year this might be hell of a football team. I mean, might be sooner than that."
