Akron Children's Hospital relocates its Warren pediatric office

Updated:

WARREN, Ohio - The demand for pediatric primary care physicians in Trumbull County is what prompted Akron Children's Hospital to build a new pediatrics facility on East Market Street in Warren, just down the street from its former space.

"We only had nine exam rooms at the old office and we were just out of space. We were just cramped and we knew we needed more doctors. So, we have two new providers and we just needed a lot bigger space," said Dr. Gary Backner from Akron Children's Hospital Pediatrics in Warren.

And they got it. The newly constructed Akron Children's Hospital Pediatrics Warren includes 20 exam rooms, more rooms for testing and immunizations and a larger waiting room.

"I would consider this a state-of-the-art pediatric office. It is just a wonderful place, pediatric friendly, nice and colorful and cheerful and because of those factors and our association with Akron Children's we will be able to provide excellent care to the people in the community," said Dr. Backner.

The new facility also means expanded office hours. "Some other offices cross cover with other people and they might have to go to this office one week and another office another week. Now, with six providers, 20 exam rooms they can come here Monday through Saturday for all of their needs," Dr. Backner said.
