Next 'Captain America' film coming to Cleveland

Updated:

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - Marvel Studios is coming back to Ohio for the filming of its next Captain America movie.

The Greater Cleveland Film Commission announced Friday that portions of "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" will begin filming in the northeast Ohio city in 2014.

It will be a sequel to Marvel's 2012 blockbuster "The Avengers," which also filmed in locations around the state. The new film stars Chris Evans and is directed by brothers and Cleveland natives Anthony and Joe Russo.

Republican House Speaker William Batchelder of Medina praised the state's motion picture tax credit for continuing to land the state big film deals.

Southwest Ohio played host last year to the filming of "The Ides of March," the 2011 political thriller starring George Clooney and Ryan Gosling.
