STRUTHERS, Ohio - A veteran Nonprofit is in the running for a $250,000 prize.

Last year, after a big final push, AMVETS Post 44 in Struthers took the prize in the Aprons In Action Facebook campaign sponsored by Home Depot Foundation.

The local veterans' organization was neck and neck with an organization from Cedar Park, Texas. At the end of the competition Sunday, support tipped in favor of the Struthers AMVETS with a final tally of 36,239 votes.

The organization took a $25,000 reward and will now be entered in a competition for this month with winners from previous months for $250,000, with $150,000 for second place and $100,000 for third place.

Voting will run this month until May 31 at 11:59 p.m.
