Train hits, kills teen in southwest Ohio

Updated:

ENON, Ohio (AP) - Authorities in southwest Ohio are investigating a fatal accident involving a train.

Deputies in Clark County say the train struck a 17-year-old walking on the tracks Friday afternoon near the town of Enon.

Investigators tell The Dayton Daily News (bit.ly/SzPFJX) that they don't know if the teen heard the train or why he was on the tracks.

Detectives plan to review footage from a camera on the train.

The train engineer and conductor told detectives that the teen was walking in the middle of the tracks with his back to them and sounded the train's horn.
